A study day that supports the appropriate development of Oncology Nursing, intended for allied health professionals and registered and student nurses wanting to develop an essential understanding of treatment options for cancer patients.
The programme will identify familiar cancer treatments within Oncology Nursing and explore alternative options available for patients and the future.
The study day will provide attendees with the understanding of the patient’s journey, from treating patients with SACT to radiotherapy, through to alternative methods such as complimentary therapies, nutrition and psychological care for the cancer patient.
The programme is intended to further develop self-management strategies in everyday oncology nursing.

- Treating patients with Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT)
- Treating patients with Radiotherapy
- Research clinical trials and further treatments
- Enhanced supportive care
- Sexuality and cancer
- Complimentary therapy for cancer patients
- Psychological care of the cancer patient
- Occupational therapy
- The role of rehabilitation in the cancer nvironment
