The NHS has transformed the health and wellbeing of our country in its 70-year history. Its future relies on its people, and their dedication in looking after our health.

From diagnosis to recovery, each patient journey is a result of collaboration from NHS staff – from IT and digital professionals, support workers and allied health professionals to nurses and doctors, everyone who works in the NHS has a role to play in supporting patients.

We are the NHS campaign

The next phase of the “We are the NHS” campaign will illustrate the stimulating and rewarding roles available in support, IT and digital within the NHS.

IT, digital and support professionals have a crucial role in the health organisation. Far beyond managing the infrastructure and fixing faults, IT and digital experts also develop new software and create innovative technological solutions, ultimately having a real impact on patient care. Support professionals are often the first point of contact for patients booking appointments. They are often the link between medical teams, ensuring smooth coordination and supporting patients throughout their entire journey.

NHS staff touch the lives of the 1.4 million patients treated in England every 24 hours. Regardless of their specific role, all staff contribute to caring for each and every one of these patients with care and compassion when it matters most.
