"Being the first Filipino to work as a Nurse Advisor at NHS England is a milestone in international recruitment."
Jeni’s NHS career started 23 years ago. Listen and read her story and hear how, in her current role as International Recruitment and Ethnic Minorities Nurse Advisor at NHS England, she has championed our ethnic minority workforce and been an inspirational figure for international recruitment.
Hi, I’m Jeni and I’m currently international recruitment and ethnic minorities nurse advisor at NHS England.
My career in the NHS for the last 23 years has provided me with different opportunities in various settings. At national level, my current role provides me with a sense of purpose in terms of supporting our ethnic minority workforce, and that to me is a privilege - to be able to make sure we not only take care of our patients, because we know if we have well taken care of staff, we will have better and safer care for our patients.
Being the first Filipino to work as a nurse advisor at NHS England is a milestone in international recruitment. A senior nurse once told me people need to see someone that looks like them, and then they can also dream and aspire to be similar. The future is really a good one.
