"I’m proud of my 18-year career in the NHS. I’m still progressing."

Mayumi is a Ward Manager at Neuro Specialist hospital in London. Listen to her story and hear how, even with a long and accomplished career in the NHS, she’s still learning and developing every day.

Mayumi Rossi

Ward manager at neuro specialist hospital

Hi, my name is Mayumi Rossi. I’m a ward manager at a neuro specialist hospital in London and I have been working in the NHS for 18 years.

Career progression is very important for me. I was successful in my career development from a staff nurse to a ward manager. I was very lucky to achieve a post graduate neuroscience degree with full funding from the NHS. I have also attended national conferences . If you wish to challenge and develop your career and academic education, the NHS will support you.

My advice if you are thinking about joining the NHS for a career, you may feel the same anxiety as I felt before you come, but don’t worry about it - we are looking after you.
