Preparing to apply
Your application to medical school will include a number of stages:
- you need to be aware of the different types of medical school courses available
- it’s important to be aware of a range of factors when choosing your medical school
- your UCAS application will include writing a strong personal statement
- you need to be prepared for medical school interviews
- medical schools will expect you to have found out about the role of a doctor and what it's like working in healthcare. They’ll also want evidence of your skills. Gaining experience for medical school can include shadowing, volunteering, paid work and other opportunities
- most medical schools expect you to sit admissions tests
- you need to be aware of your options if you haven’t got into medical school
