This is a Graduate Entry Medicine* course. See our page on medical school courses for an explanation of the different types of course in medicine.

Minimum entry requirements:

Degree qualifications
Minimum 2.1 in a Life Sciences subject. Results are scored.

AS/A levels/Scottish Highers
Biology or Chemistry is required. Results are scored.

GCSEs/Scottish Nationals
Where the highest qualification in English or Maths is at GCSE, grade 7 (A) is normally required. Results are not scored.

International Baccalaureate
Biology or Chemistry, must be offered at Higher Level. Results are scored.

Admissions test:
UCAT (the total UCAT scores of all applicants will be ranked and a score allocated according to the decile within which the result lies)

Widening participation
When scoring an application contextual data is taken into account relating to secondary school performance.

Care leavers will receive compensatory adjustments for both secondary school and degree results.

Minimum entry requirements:

Degree qualifications (for graduate applicants)
Applicants with a 2:1 in any subject and have achieved ABB at A level are ranked by total UCAT score.

Predicted AS/A levels/Scottish Highers
AAA at A level including Biology and Chemistry. Applicant must be predicted AAB.

AA at Advanced Higher including Biology and Chemistry. Applicant must be predicted AB.

GCSEs/Scottish Nationals
Minimum of grade B in science, English and Maths.

Home applicants: GCSE results are scored and the total score is scaled to a maximum of 6 then combined with a score derived from the total UCAT result (maximum of 4).

The website calculator allows prospective applicants to receive feedback on the likelihood of success based on the academic factors used in selection.

International Baccalaureate
6,6,6 at Higher Level (including Biology and Chemistry; must be predicted 6,6,5) plus total points score of 32.
